TERRAIN
STAGE 1 – 27.07.2023 (THURSDAY) – BRONIÓW
In 2023 Sudety Cup goes to its backwoods which is the highest mountain range of Sudety Mountains named Karkonosze Mountains. Already the first stage will show that the third edition of our event has to be taken seriously. The athletes will face a technically demanding terrain with a large number of rocks and boulders located on a steep slope, so the ability to maintain correct altitude and precise reading of conrol descriptions will be especially useful. The forest itself will be the most enjoyable to run of all stages. In a word, it will be a fast and technical opening of the event.
STAGE 2 – 28.07.2023 (FRIDAY) – KARPACZ
During this stage you will feel like conquering the highest peaks of Karkonosze. The event area reaches almost 1000 meters above sea level, so the forest where you will compete is the wildest of all four stages, in many moments reminiscent of the Jizera backwoods where animals, not people, rule. When running on a steep slope you will have the opportunity to face numerous streams, marshes, spruce thickets and stony ground that will not make it an easy race. The second stage will be hard and physical, but also extremely epic.
STAGE 3 – 29.07.2023 (SATURDAY) – BOROWICE
It has become a tradition that the third stage is the most demanding race of Sudety Cup - it will be no different this time. This middle distance will be characterized by high variability in all aspects. After two stages where you will face a lot of slope running, this time you will meet hilly terrain with many thickets, areas with limited visibility, marshes, water courses, as well as boulders and rocks. But it is breathtaking views of the Karkonosze peaks that will be the main feature of this stage. In short, it is going to be beautiful and technical.
STAGE 4 – 30.07.2023 (SUNDAY) – SOSNÓWKA
The fourth stage is crème de la crème of this edition of Sudety Cup. You will experience an exciting and spectacular chasing start beginnning from the Event Center with a picturesque view of Śnieżka. The event area will consist of two parts, one overgrown with deciduous forest, the other one with coniferous forest. Both parts will abound in rock features and boulders, moreover, both will surprise you with their rich vegetation. Get ready for two different experience that will require your highest skills. This stage will be both challenging and spectacular.
